Gorenja Vas pri Šmarjeti
Gorenja Vas pri Šmarjeti (; (スロベニア語:Gorenja vas pri Šmarjeti), (ドイツ語:Oberdorf)〔''Leksikon občin kraljestev in dežel zastopanih v državnem zboru,'' vol. 6: ''Kranjsko''. 1906. Vienna: C. Kr. Dvorna in Državna Tiskarna, p. 82.〕) is a village immediately west of Šmarjeta in the Municipality of Šmarješke Toplice in southeastern Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.〔(Šmarješke Toplice municipal site )〕 The settlement includes the hamlets of Mevce to the northwest, Podkrajec to the north, and Dolina, Hrib, and Ravnik to the west.〔Savnik, Roman, ed. 1971. The name of the settlement was changed from ''Gorenja vas'' (literally 'upper village') to ''Gorenja vas pri Šmarjeti'' (literally, 'upper village near Šmarjeta') in 1953.〔''Spremembe naselij 1948–95''. 1996. Database. Ljubljana: Geografski inštitut ZRC SAZU, DZS.〕 In the past the German name was ''Oberdorf''.〔
